The Charity
Despite it's name, Operation USA assists communities both here and abroad. It was started in 1979 by Richard Walden and Llewellyn Werner as a relief organization created to provide aid to Vietnamese Boat People and Cambodian refugees. Since then, their mission has evolved to include providing relief in all parts of the world- from the recent Haiti earthquakes to the 2011 Midwestern Floods in the United States.
The Song
"Words from the Rain" is a section from a much larger piece of music, and it's a section that stands very well on it's own. The background rain was captured on one of our early spring rainy days with a portable recorder (Zoom H2) while I played piano inside.
